Elite Line Services is currently seeking a Dynamic Automation Engineering Manager to join our Winning Team! The Automation Engineering Manager will act as the Subject Matter Expert in the support of the maintenance responsibilities and upgrade opportunities for the company’s PLC and Automation Controls equipment within its maintenance contracts located at customer airports and commercial properties across the country. The role will coordinate with the Senior Director of Operations and the Regional Managers to ensure required support is scheduled at all locations.  Must be able to provide hands on training to multiple technical and managerial positions and must have excellent understanding of the full range of skills necessary to support the common applications of PLC software typically used with Conveyor Systems (i.e., Baggage Handling Systems and Distribution MHE), Passenger Boarding Bridges and Facilities (inclusive of HVAC and other building automation). 


Additional Responsibilities:


The role will be required to develop new business opportunities and well as cost mitigation that will substantiate department growth and its profitability.

Responsible for preventative maintenance, causes of operational problems, deficiency inspections and reporting.

Develop and be the owner of the mission and vision for the company's PLC/Automation program.

Advance training content for the company's LMS that supports technical staff development and the maintenance needs of the company’s contracted PLC/Controls programs

Establish KPI’s that benefit operational performance and develop reports for senior leadership’s information





B.S. in electrical, mechanical or computer science and/or 2 year degree in a computer science related subject and equivalent verifiable experience in basic electricity and electronics, programming ladder logic in material handling or manufacturing type setting.


Minimum 5 years’ experience with PLC logic in a material handling environment.


Experience with at least one of the following:  Allen Bradley, Siemens, Square D, Telemecanique modsoft, Modicon, control net, device net, Ethernet, Modbus, Modbus communications protocols.


A.S. degree in a computer science related subject or equivalent verifiable experience in basic electricity and electronics, programming ladder logic in material handling or manufacturing type setting.


Ability to program and troubleshoot PLCs

Previous experience programming VFD drive parameters

Previous experience with Page builder or similar HMI software.

Previous experience with using Profibus


Additional Responsibilities

Must be available to support emergency service calls for malfunctioning equipment both by phone and quick deploy sites visits which may include level 2 break/fix and problem diagnosis, troubleshooting, anti-virus patching, etc. Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.
