Responsibilities

  • Review and revise HR policies in compliance with changing or new legislation.
  • Develop and revise HR policies in compliance with changing or new legislation.
  • Keep managers informed on antidiscrimination regulations.
  • Plan, direct, supervise and coordinate work activities of subordinates and staff relating to employment, recruitment, compensation, labor relations and employee relations.
  • Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, terminations, compensation and turnover stats.
  • Prepare and follow budgets for personnel operation.
  • Oversee the evaluation, classification and rating of occupations and job positions.
  • Develop and/or administer special projects in areas such as pay equality and employee rewards programs.
  • Receive employee complaints and act accordingly to resolve issues.
  • Utilize outside resources in order to monitor issues and concerns in employment law, communicating potential changes to senior management.
  • Train prospective supervisors in conflict management, leadership and employee relations.
  • Conduct annual site visits to all major sites to maintain and/or improve employee relations.
  • Compliance with ELS Safety program policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the employer’s insurance policy.
  • Perform additional duties/assignments as may be required by management

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree and five years of human resources experience, or ten year experience in the HR field.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • 5+ years’ experience working in a multi-state environment.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in human resources management.
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years' experience resolving complex employee relations issues.

  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee and union relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
